Priorities and application of criteria*

1. Open access publications

Journal ranking: according to IF the journal belongs to:

Q1 or Q2 group for publications in the field Natural Sciences

Q3 or higher for publications in all other fields of science except Natural Sciences

Support is foreseen for open access publications only.

Support is foreseen for open access publications only. Supprot priorities are applied in following sequence: 1. Publication is not associated with project funding, 2. publication belongs to higher rank journals according to IF; 3. publication is co-authored by higher number of KU staff.

Project based publications are supported after priority group of publications without project support have been funded.

2. Support for research or publication services

1. For monographs:
Degree of internationality of publishing house, reviewing policy and publishing house adequacy to the Lithuanian Science Council criteria for its inclusion into the list of prestigious foreign publishing houses.
Volume of monograph (in terms of printer’s sheets) and internationality of co-authors, conclusions from reviews and relevant University division.

2. For research articles:
Research journal IF or SNIP for CA WOS or SCOPUS journals respectively.

Funding priority is provided according to the expected research value during institutional research annual evaluations by Research Council of Lithuania which depends on:

number of co-authors from other institutions, printer sheets of the publication, internationality of the publishing house, its reviewing policy and inclusion into the list of prestigious foreign publishing houses (for monographs)

number of co-authors from other institutions and journal IF or SNIP.

3. Project applications

Project alignment with the strategic research field of the University

Project impact to the needs of the region

Support applicable to the research or study project applications irrespective of their funding success after submission.

Support is provided to the project applications, which have been developed by lecturers (non-research staff), applications registered in the KU ePOVAS platform and assigned to the Faculty division and submitted to the funding organization.

4. Double degree study programs

Justification of the partner institution, double degree impact on study quality, student numbers and mobility.
Applicable to the BSc and MSc degree study programs, priority is given for those implemented in English language.

5. Tools and methods for study program promotion

Tools, prototypes, games etc.: novelty of the idea, interaction level, fit for purpose to marketing of study programs.

Interaction day products: novelty of the idea, interaction level, applicability to schoolars at higher classes

 

 

Applications should fit the temathic topics of the secondary school disciplines

6. Student projects

Innovative products, services, technologies, solutions and/or studies of regional importance
Minimum number of participants: 2.

Potential participants: lecturer/reseacher (as project mentor), BSc and MSc students, schoolars, external partners (private companies, organisations, associations)

* Klaipeda University is supporting transfer of sustainable development principles into the academic life and research, therefore funding is provided to applications considering sustainable use of resources and UN Sustainable Development Goals.

**A staff member may apply for funding in the same field of grant once a year. This requirement does not apply to the Open Access Publication grant.
